WHML.ORG’s source standards page links education, research, publishing, collaboration and volunteering with ethical practice and quality. A standard is useful when people know its purpose, scope and evidence requirements. This guide explains how standards can support a common way of working without implying that WHML.ORG creates binding rules for every country or profession.
Overview
Welcome to the standards section of the World Health, Medical and Life Sciences Organization (WHML.ORG). We work together to define and develop global standards in the fields of health, medicine, and life sciences. At WHML.ORG, we believe in the importance of establishing and maintaining global standards in these fields. As a non-profit organization, we dedicate our resources to education, research, and social benefit. Together with our members and partners, we strive to develop and implement internationally recognized standards. Our training and course programs are designed to ensure that professionals are informed about the latest standards and best practices. Our certified programs help participants enhance their competencies and advance their careers. Through our scientific journals and publications, we contribute to the body of knowledge by sharing current research and developments in health and life sciences. Our standards cover critical areas such as ethical principles, patient safety, research methodology, data management, and more. These standards, recognized at both national and international levels, improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure the reliability of scientific research.
Standards regulation
WHML.ORG’s standards framework describes professional practice and ethical principles in health, medicine and life sciences. It guides discussion of quality and reliability among members and collaborators. The framework covers patient privacy, research integrity, patient safety, continuing education, transparent and reproducible research, objective publishing and international knowledge sharing. It is an institutional framework; its publication does not confer regulatory authority or certify compliance.
Our Core Principles
Ethical practices
adherence to the highest ethical standards in all activities, including patient privacy, research integrity, and professional conduct.
Patient safety
ensuring and improving patient safety in healthcare services is our top priority.
Education and continuous development
promoting ongoing education to keep professionals updated with the latest knowledge and skills.
Scientific research and publishing
ensuring that research is transparent, reproducible, and ethically conducted; objectivity and accuracy are essential in publishing.
International collaboration
promoting global cooperation and knowledge sharing to address global health challenges.
Implementation of Standards
Training programs
courses and workshops designed to understand and apply standards.
Certification
the source framework includes assessment-based programmes for professionals and institutions. Any offered programme must identify its criteria, assessor, issuer, scope and validity; a participation record or account approval is not certification of compliance.
Audits and assessments
review against stated criteria is part of the framework. Any completed audit should be identified by its scope, date, responsible reviewer and findings; this description is not evidence that an audit has taken place.
Publications and resources
guides, scientific articles, and up-to-date information on standards.
Role of Our Members
Our members play an active role in the development and implementation of standards. Their feedback and participation contribute to the continuous improvement of our standards. They also play a key role in promoting these standards within their institutions and communities.
Education and Certification
Education and certification programmes are intended to help professionals understand current developments and apply good practice in health and life sciences. Recognition depends on the identified programme, issuing body and applicable professional context; international recognition is not assumed. In the demonstration, protected education and certificate areas require account approval and an approved package with administrator-confirmed payment. A certificate is shown only after an administrator creates the actual record.
Scientific Research and Publishing
Our standards aim to improve the quality and reliability of scientific research. Articles published in our scientific journals must comply with international standards and ethical rules, ensuring the accurate and reliable dissemination of scientific knowledge.
International and National Collaborations
WHML.ORG collaborates with international and national organizations to promote the adoption and implementation of standards globally. These partnerships contribute to improving health systems in different countries and achieving global health goals.
Volunteerism and Social Contribution
Our volunteers play a crucial role in promoting and implementing standards. They actively participate in our training programs, fieldwork, and community projects to help create a healthier world.
Importance of Standards
Quality assurance
clearly specified standards provide a basis for evaluating and improving healthcare services and scientific research; they do not guarantee every outcome.
Reliability
compliance with standards enhances the credibility of professionals and institutions.
Harmonization and collaboration
common standards facilitate international cooperation and alignment.
Looking Ahead
At WHML.ORG, we aim to continuously update and improve our standards to adapt to changing needs and technological advancements. By defining standards in emerging areas such as digital health, artificial intelligence, and genetic research, we are shaping the future of health and life sciences.
