WHML.ORG’s published organizational model describes a board of directors, an executive committee, scientific expertise and regional coordination. Understanding how these functions relate is more useful than a list of titles: each has a different part in setting direction, implementing decisions and reviewing results.
Foundation and history
WHML.ORG’s published institutional history traces its establishment to 2000. It describes founders drawn from professors, academics and health professionals, with the aim of enhancing knowledge sharing, professional development and scientific research in health, medicine and life sciences. The organisation’s stated work since its foundation is to improve the quality of health services globally, support medical research and raise awareness of life sciences.
Management and organizational structure
WHML.ORG operates with a democratic and transparent management approach. Our organizational structure is managed by a board of directors composed of experts from various disciplines. The board of directors makes strategic decisions and directs the activities of the organization. The management structure of WHML.ORG is as follows:
Board of directors
Our board of directors consists of expert professors, academics, and health professionals in the fields of health, medical and life sciences. The board determines the strategic direction of the organization, oversees activities, and makes important decisions. Our board meets at least four times a year to evaluate the organization’s activities and plan for the future.
Executive committee
The executive committee is responsible for implementing the decisions made by the board of directors. This committee manages the daily activities of the organization, coordinates projects, and ensures the efficient use of resources. The executive committee is led by the general manager of the organization and consists of units specialized in different areas.
Scientific committee
The scientific committee directs and oversees the scientific research and publication activities of WHML.ORG. This committee consists of leading scientists and researchers in the fields of medical and life sciences. The scientific committee evaluates research projects, oversees the quality of scientific publications, and contributes to the organization of scientific events.
Regional offices
WHML.ORG’s published organisational framework covers nine regions: Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, the Caribbean, North America, Central America, and South America. Each region is managed through regional offices and local representatives. Regional offices implement WHML.ORG’s global strategies at the local level and coordinate projects in the region.
Country offices
The source describes a country-representation model across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, the Caribbean, North America, Central America and South America. Country offices and local representatives are intended to implement global strategies nationally and coordinate projects. The original description refers to almost all countries; this scope should be read as the published network model, rather than as a verified directory of currently staffed offices. Current representation and contact arrangements are confirmed by the secretariat.
“WHML.ORG – structured for success, designed for impact.”
